The Diwali Tea Cosy knitting pattern is a light festival on a teapot!
The patterns around the tea cosy were inspired by henna patterns that I had seen, then adapted and worked in bright colours. Set against the black background the colours look even brighter.
On the top of the tea cosy I have designed a traditional candle holder, but of course you can't have a real flame, and instead of a knitted flame I thought it would be lovely to have a battery operated tealight. What is lovely about these battery tea lights is that they are completely safe, but they have a little flicker like a real flame would which is great for creating ambiance.
The tea cosy is knitted on 4.00mm knitting needles throughout, but this wouldn't be thick enough to keep the teapot hot during the dark winter months, so the tea cosy has a knitted lining making it super thick.
The patterns on the tea cosy are knitted in as you go and are worked from charts in the pattern.
