The pattern is written in USA terminology. You will need to know basic crochet stitches. The dress and hat are both made in one piece and there is very minimal sewing involved. To expand you will need to sew on one button. I used King Cole Pricewise in the following colours and approximate amounts. A - Proper purple 6g (17m/19yd) B - Black 14g (40m/44yd) Total - 20g (57m/63yd)
