Product Details
Dover Castle Cowl begins at the neck as a top down triangle. After a bit of knitting, it is joined in the round to create a seamless cowl.
I love this shape for a cowl. It is so comfortable to wear and may be adjusted at the neck to suit the temperature.
This cowl features the same original lace pattern created for Dover Castle Shawl pattern.
The lace pattern is mainly worked on RS rows, with only a few knit sts added to the plain, purl WS rows.
The lace pattern is charted only.
Yardage required - You will need approximately 250 yds / 230 m of bulky or chunky weight yarn to make the cowl.
The samples shown were both made with Cascade Eco Merino in the colorways Silver and Mushroom. These are giant, 250 gram skeins and I used just a smidge under 1/2 of a skein for each cowl.
Sizing - The sample shown measures 18 inch / 46 cm in depth at the front, from the top neck edge to the point.
