Product Details

The Down the Line Beanie has a simple and appealing design consisting of converging vertical stripes.

It’s made using the addictive and gorgeous brioche crochet technique, which produces a lovely stretchy, textured fabric and is much easier than it looks. The pattern includes a link to a video tutorial showing how it's done.

The hat is worked in a single piece, starting with a band of ribbing joined to form a loop. The main part of the hat then continues working with brioche crochet in rounds, with decreases up to the top.

The hat comes in one size suitable for an older child or adult. To make it larger, use a thicker (e.g. DK) yarn and a larger hook.

The pattern contains full written instructions plus some photos.

I used Hobbii Friends Extra Fine Merino (4 ply; 165m / 50g ball; 100% wool): 2 balls of the main colour and 1 ball of the contrast colour.

You could swap for another soft and cosy 4ply yarn.
