Product Details
Earthstar is a fun striped semicircular shawl overlaid with a cable motif radiating from a central point in a star shape. The star is made of a series of wedges which gradually shift into a slip stitch (mosaic) zigzag pattern, then into a lace mesh that can be worked in stripes for a unique 2 colour effect.
The cables are integrated into the knitting, rather than being stitched on afterwards. The shawl is worked in stripes, and the cable lines are made by knitting cables in the working colour as you normally would, then on rows of the other colour those stitches that form the cable line are slipped without being knit. So it’s easier than it looks.
The size of the shawl is adaptable, both the texture stitch and the lace sections can be worked to any size.
Suits fingering to DK weight yarn in any yardage between approx 700-1000m (990-1100y) or skip charts 2&3 for a smaller shawl.
The design can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with some notes.
