Product Details
Soap sacks are small bags that you can pop a bar of soap in. The loop on top allows you hang the soap to dry. The fabric of the bag itself acts as a washcloth or mitt and a way to keep the bar in between uses.
This is from a Charity Project started by Stacy who worked with Lion Brand yarns to create crochet and knit soap sack patterns found on their website. I found that the Lion Brand Crocheted Soap SACK I made did not dry out but was damp long after coming out of the dryer (and additional time hanging on the clothesline), so I looked through other patterns and decided to design my own Soap SACK to donate to the food pantry in my city. These simple crocheted sacks take me about an hour to make one. I used leftover balls of Sugar 'n Cream for my bags.
The soap sack idea is to place a wrapped bar of soap inside and donate it to a local food bank, shelter, or mission. The person who receives it now has a wash mitt and a bar of soap, as well as a holder to keep the soap in between uses.
