Product Details
This pattern includes the instructions for both a scarf and a shawl in the Ebb and Flow Lace pattern. They can be knit in either lace or fingering weight yarn.
The lace stitch used in this scarf and shawl is totally reversible. The pattern of the lace flows from knit to purl and back again: it reminds me of the tide. The alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette stitch causes the fabric to push out and then recede, ebb and flow. The edge of the shawl can be left straight as shown in the yellow shawl or blocked into scallops as shown in the lilac scarf.
The sample shawl was knit in Filatura Di Crosa Baby Kid Extra (lace) and the scarf in Jorstad Creek St. Clement (fingering). A suggested laceweight yarn is shown below.
