"Tired as he was, Bilbo would have liked to stay a while. Elvish singing is not a thing to miss, in June under the stars" - *"The Hobbit"* by J. R. R. Tolkien
The "Elvish Singing" shawlette is inspired by the cheerful welcome Bilbo is given one evening as he approaches the elvish outpost of Rivendell.
The shawlette features a repeating leaf motif across the top edge, and the Elfin Lace stitch comprises the body of the shawl. A gently pointed edging flows out of this motif along the sides of the shawlette. It is knit using a single ball of fingering weight sock yarn that sparkles like stars in the evening sky.
This pattern includes both charts and written directions. The shawlette is knit using a single ball of sock yarn. Please note that the sample used nearly all of a 438yard/100g ball of sock yarn.
The shawl is knit from the center back neck outward.
