Feather Family was designed for the Vaulters Yarn Club, a quarterly book themed yarn club from Third Vault Yarn. The book which inspired the pattern was The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.
The yarn is Third Vault Yarn Caroline DK in the Hashkath colourway, also inspired by the book.
Each of the main characters from the book are represented with their own stitch pattern, and because the crew of the Wayfarer are so different and unique, the Feather Family is not just a cowl, but can also be worn as a messy bun hat and ear warmers.
In total there are 9 different stitch patterns and all but 1 are charted.
