Product Details

This is another commuter trip inspired beanie. In the evening when I go home by bus, we go through "garlic country" (Knoblauchsland) around Nuremburg. It's called like that because it is very fertile and a lot of vegetables are grown there in green houses but also in the fields. As it's near forest and open range you can also see field hares and roe deers there from time to time. And then one evening I saw two field hares sitting in the salad field. I couldn't get this image out of my head until the beanie was finished.

The beanie has a corrugated (multicolor) ribbing with bands of salad and nibbled at salad and carrots and nibbled at carrots. Inbetween are bands of the two sitting field hares. At the top are seven field hares and 7 tiny carrots.

I knitted the beanie in 4-ply sock yarn leftovers but you can also use Acrylic or Merino yarn of similar weight. For bigger heads go up one or two needle sizes and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.

Please note: There are at most two
