Product Details
Freshet, named for the beautiful Nechako River that flows through my back yard in Northern British Columbia. As the spring approaches, the river moves faster and chunks of ice break free from the frozen banks. This is the spring thaw, or Freshet.
Spring here in my forest is cold; we experience negative temperatures right through April. Freshet has a double brim for extra warmth, and is knit using a contrast colour, for a little extra pop.
The texture through the middle of the hat, which is reminiscent of the tiny icebergs in the Nechako, is accomplished using only knit and purl stitches. Nothing fancy here! A relaxing, rhythmic section of the hat.
I’ve included two sizes, and lots of pictures of the brim construction to help guide you.
