I admit it, I love my hats. I love making them and I love wearing them. This is my go-to hat pattern - and while I’ve noted some of the yarns I’ve used, it will work with any worsted-weight yarn. Just check your gauge first and adjust the needle size up or down if necessary.

The pattern includes a section that discusses the various options for the cast-on, so that you can choose which one you want to use. And in case you’re new to any of the techniques, I’ve included some video suggestions so that you can see how they’re worked.

I’ve outlined three stitch patterns for the brim: 1 x 1 rib, 1 x 1 twisted rib, and 2 x 2 rib, and the main body of the hat is worked in stocking/stockinette stitch. So you can mix things up a bit, I’ve added some instructions on knitting in stripes - including helix/helical knitting for stripes that change colour every round.
