Product Details
The Going to the Sun Hat was inspired by Glacier National Park and the breathtaking Going to the Sun Road. I marveled at the incredible natural beauty of the park as we made our way to the Continental Divide, toward where the jagged peaks touched the sun, and that winding journey led to the design for this hat.
This hat uses 1 skein of the main color (shown in Light Gray Heather, 004) and small amount of contrast color (shown in a handspun yarn equivalent to the Plymouth Homestead yarn). You will also need 2 size 6/4 mm 16-in/40-cm circular needles or 1 circular needle and 1 set of double-pointed needles, stitch marker, and tapestry needle. The hat is worked in the round using a combination of rib stitches and stockinette stitch, with decreases and colorwork for the crown. Even though it is sized for an adult, if you wanted to make a smaller size, you could experiment with a lighter yarn and smaller needles to achieve a smaller hat.
