Product Details
Hanami is worked seamlessly from the top down. The neck is shaped by working short-rows back & forth. The yoke is shaped by using a modified version of the contiguous set-in-sleeves method developed by Susie Myers. When the yoke shaping is complete, the sleeve sts are placed on hold & the underarm sts are cast on. The body is worked in the round to the ribbing with waist shaping or an A-line shaping (both options are given). Then sleeve sts are picked up again to work the sleeves top down in the round to the end. Optional neck finishing is worked last. As this jumper is worked from the top down it is advisable to try it on from time to time to check the length and overall fit. The length and width of the yoke are easily adjustable by adding/ reducing increases, or adding/ reducing underarm sts.
Sample is knit in Holst garn Supersoft 100% uld, 100% wool, an alternative is shown below.
