Product Details
This pattern contains three colorful Hawaiian reef fish: thereef triggerfish(or humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, the state fish of Hawaii), the brightly coloredyellow tang(or lauiʻī**pala) and the dazzlingflame wrasse*.*
So color up your knitting by creating these fabulously flashy, splashy fish!
The fish were knitted on 2.25 mm dpn (UK 13, US 1). Together, they make a great mock aquarium or a colorful crib mobile. The reef fish measure approx. 11 cm.
Only small amounts of yarn (20- 25 m per fish) are needed, so a reef fish is a great project to use up any scraps you have lying around. Suggestions are made for coloring, but maybe just let your imagination run wild!
Each fish is an easy, fast and fun project and can be done in a few hours. The fish are knitted flat with some intarsia colorwork and the transferring and picking up of stitches (to knit the fins directly onto the body.
