Product Details
Artistic depictions of Griffin-like animals appear before 3000 BCE in ancient Egypt and Iran, this lion-eagle hybrid combines the king of beasts and the king of birds. Herodotus (5th Century BCE) has some of the earliest surviving descriptions of these creatures, but he bases this on a now lost work by the earlier author Aristaeus (7th Century BCE).
