The Hickory Child Hat Knitting Pattern is the designer’s choice for gifts, charity knitting and makers. It uses super chunky weight yarn and is quick and easy to knit using only knit & purl stitches, knitted flat. The Hickory Hat has a 3” ribbing for a great fit, then the rest of the hat is knit in stockinette stitch with decreasing in the crown for great shape and fit. Decreasing is a simple (knit 2 together) style. Hickory is a great knit for beginners, makers, charity knitters and for quick last minute gifts.
One small skein will make this hat unless you are making a super large pom pom (optional) and then you will need extra.
