Product Details

This shawl was designed to mark the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2012.

The shawl may be knitted with or without the border. The main body of the shawl is knitted in ONE piece, with the optional border sewn on afterwards.

Instructions given for BOTH written pattern AND charts (these instructions are printed on separate pages within the pattern, to enable selective printing)

Materials required: one pair size 2.5 mm knitting needles, six stitch markers (optional). **Yarn requirements: *Borderless shawl –***70g/925 metres approx. 1-ply yarn. The shawl in the photo was knitted using 1-ply acrylic yarn; Shawl with border – 90g/1350 metres approx 1-ply yarn. The shawl in the photo was knitted using Yeoman Yarns Polo 1-ply merino wool - silver

Finished size: Borderless shawl - 16-inches/40 cm wide by 61 inches/1.60 metres; *Shawl with border - *20-inches/50 cm wide by 66-inches/1.70 metres

Gauge: 10 sts and 11 rows = 1-inch/2.5 cm over stocking (stockinette) stitch
