Product Details
The Karcsa shawl got its name from a small settlement located in the northern part of Hungary, in the area enclosed by the rivers Tisza and Bodrog, called Bodrogköz. On a small hill in the village stands a church for almost a thousand years, which is now used by the Reformed Church, and which is one of the most important monuments of the country. According to one of the legends of the origin of the church, 12 fairies lived here in a palace built next to a nearby lake. The fairies built the church in one night for fear of witches. However, the bell was dropped into the lake during transportation, and then the church tower also fell. Since then, in the depths of the water, the bell rings every 100 years, signaling the truth of the legend about the fairies. The ringing of the bell beats waves on the water surface of the lake - and on the shawl as well. Yarn: Three skein Garnstudio Drops Baby Alpaca Silk (70% Alpaca, 30% Silk; 167 m /183 yards per 50 g). 480 m / 524 yds sport weight yarn.
