Product Details
Perfect for some luxurious fingering weight or special handspun you've been saving, this cozy shawl combines the comforting mindlessness of garter stitch with a geometric lace border for interest. The pattern is easily adaptable to accommodate any weight or amount of yarn available, and the resulting shawl is warm, cozy, and gorgeous. After the garter stitch body of the shawl is finished, the openwork edging is worked sideways, incorporating the live body stitches to give a seamless finish. Small sample shown was worked in The Fibre Company Canopy fingering (50% alpaca/30% merino/20% bamboo); large two-colour sample worked in 2-ply fingering weight handspun Shetland.
