Product Details

In The Silmarillion, Laurelin is described like this: “… The other bore leaves of a young green like a new-opened beech; their edges were of glittering gold. Flowers swung upon her branches in clusters of yellow flame, formed each to a glowing horn that spilled a golden rain upon the ground; and from the blossom of that tree there came forth warmth and a great light.“ This lace pattern made me think of the description of the younger of the Two Trees, so I named this little bookmark in her honor. It would be a perfect way to use up some of those inevitable remnants fingering weight yarn, as well as to try out the delightful art of double-knit lace. I have included an illustrated guide to a few of the most common stitches used in lace knitting, and how I do these stitches in double-knitting.
