Product Details
This is a pattern for a knit wrap that features two distinct stitches that come to us from Japan. One is a distinct lace leaf, which contains clusters (smocking) and the other is a lace border stitch. Together, the two stitches make a unique and beautiful shawl. The stitches, although they are Japanese, are easily learned by Western knitters, especially those who love unique stitches. All symbols have been “translated” to the ones that most Western knitters are used to seeing.
There are two options for constructing this shawl contained within the pattern, one with a Kitchener stitch, so the sides match when worn and the other one, knitted as a single one piece garment.
The pattern also contains instructions for an optional crocheted edging.
All stitches are charted only.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of lace knitting.)
Any heavy fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern. No crochet hooks are needed if you don't edge the shawl.
