This is a lovely first project for an absolute beginner and introduces you to making granny squares and granny stripes. There are links for videos that take you from winding a ball of wool and making your first chain to making and sewing together your granny squares, if you already know how to do this you just need to follow the pattern.
We use our own Mrs Moon Plump DK yarn for this project and it takes 4 skeins, 2 of the main colour (Pavlova) and one in each of the contrast colours (Pistachio and Peppermint). However, Plump DK is a pretty standard DK and is easy to substitute.
