Product Details
Longstone the sock, is named after Longstone the lighthouse, in the Farne islands off the coast of Northumberland, home to Grace Darling, and the scene of an heroic rescue in 1838.
The sock features a cabled motif under the cuff, creating a lattice-effect, reminiscent of the diamond panes in the window of a lighthouse.
An elegant ribbed body leads down to textured gusset, and a repeat of the cuff pattern across the toes, like a reflection of the lighthouse across the water of the sea.
This ribbed sock is very forgiving in terms of gauge, and will stretch to fit most feet quite comfortably, but the pattern comes in three sizes - Small (Medium, Large), to fit feet with a circumference of 8 (9, 10) inches.
It's a quick knit, and a relatively simple one, with just enough detail to keep your interest as you go along.

- Notes
- When knitting my size Large socks, I used 380 yards (347 m) of yarn. You don't need to use a cable needle, as all the cables are nice and simple.
