This is another addition to my crochet map of Africa designs. I have also made a matching beanie which you can find in my Raverly and Ko-Fi stores. It’s cold here in South Africa and this design is warm and cozy perfect for the weather. The sweater is worked top down, no need to sew in sleeves or any part of the sweater making it perfect.
The body sweater is worked in a round but you turn the work at the beginning of each row. While the neck, sleeves and hip ribbing are worked in a round where you do not turn your work at the beginning of the row.
The yarn I used is a double knit yarn and I chose two contrasting colours for the map to pop out. The main colour is charity Pullskein white and the army green yarn is from the Blue Label Pullskein Supplies Yarn Colour 1 - 1275 ( 1275, 1530, 1785, 2040, 2550, 2550) yards 1165 ( 1165, 1396, 1631, 1864, 2330, 2330) m Colour 2 - 255 yards ( 233m) 5mm hook 4mm hook Stitch marker Darning needle Pair of scissors
