Product Details
The inspiration for this design began with a beautiful yarn. As soon as I saw this amazing colour, I knew it had to become a pair of socks.
The stitch pattern seemed to emerge organically from my mind, but as I looked at it, I was reminded of our very favourite picnic spot. Moss Eccles Tarn lies above the village of Near Sawrey in the Lake District, and was much loved by Beatrix Potter.
The character of Jeremy Fisher was created following her visits here, and you can easily see him in your minds eye, hopping around the lily pads.
The lace pattern made me think of the ducks flying down to the tarn, and the ripples they make as they land.
It's an engaging yet relaxing design, perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.
I used Eden Cottage Yarns for my sample in the shade 'Algae'. The yarn is a fingering weight, and you get 400 metres to 100g.
