Product Details
My daughter loves pink and purple, so she was less than thrilled when I came home with this green yarn. But the yarn insisted that it come how with me, and then told me that it wanted to be a cute little cardigan. Once I was done, my plan to use it as a shop sample was foiled when my daughter insisted on keeping it!
The cardigan is begun by knitting the bottom section sideways, and then by picking up stitches along the top of that section and knitting the bodice bottom up. Short rows are used to add the bell-shaped patterning at the bottom of the cardigan. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole, with the sleeve cap shaped with short rows, and then knit top down. Finally, the front band stitches are picked up around the front edges and worked in garter stitch, with some shaping where the front and the back neck stitches meet.
