Product Details
Notebook is a large and cozy shawl, worked in fingering weight yarn in four colors. The main part of the shawl is worked sideways from one tip to the other. The stitches for the edging are picked up from the bottom edge of the main part and the edging is then shaped with the short rows. The pattern includes a photo tutorial for German short rows.
YARN: Mabel & Ivy Supersoft (314 yds / 287 m per 50 g, 100 % pure new wool).
Note about using the original yarn: the sample used exactly 1 skein of C1 so if you’d like to be sure, I recommend getting 2 skeins or making sure you can easily purchase more if needed.
If you'd like to substitute yarn, you'll need light Fingering-weight yarn, approximately: 500 yds / 457 m of MC, 314 yds / 287 m of C1, 150 yds / 137 m of C2, 130 yds / 119 m of C3.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS: size 4 US / 3.5 mm circular needle, row counter, tapestry needle to weave in the yarn ends.
GAUGE: 22 sts and 44 rows in Garter stitch = 4” / 10 cm.
