Product Details
Oakenshield is a classic men’s modified drop-shoulder pullover with a button placket and stand-up collar. The body and sleeves are worked in an all-over cable and twist stitch fabric made much, much easier if you know how to cable without a cable needle. If you don’t already know how to cable without a cable needle, it behooves you to learn for this pattern.
Construction: The body of the sweater is worked bottom up in the round to the armholes, then split and worked back and forth to the shoulders. The shoulders are seamed together, then stitches are picked up around the armholes for top-down sleeves. A collar and button plackets finish the whole thing.
Skills needed: Long tail cast on, cabling with or without a cable needle, picking up stitches, seaming, basic decreases, short row wrap and turn, sewing on buttons.
