Product Details
Ohana means Family and Family means nobody is left behind, or forgotten, is the whole premise of one of my favorite movies of all times, Lilo and Stitch. I love this whole movie, from the whimsical character of Stitch, to the spunky and spirited Lilo. It just felt right that this special Lilo’s Sidekick color way be paired with a color full of wishes and fantasy as well. I knit this shawl during one of the most difficult journeys in my life, traveling through grief. The first half of the shawl is a soothing garter stitch and eyelet pattern that will let you rest in its stitches and soothe your soul. As I worked through my grief and processed my feelings, it grew into a wavy lace pattern. The waves mimicked moving through life with a missing piece of my Ohana- gone but not forgotten, days that seemed ok, but sometimes you feel that tug of sadness.
May this shawl hold your Ohana together and remind you that gone is not forgotten.
