These socks would be ideal for intermediate sock knitters who would like to try out lace knitting.
The design for these socks was inspired by my Old Shale Shawl. For some time now, I have wanted to design sock patterns that would match my four free shawl patterns. The thought of knitting lace can be slightly daunting to some knitters, but this is a very straight forward lace pattern to follow: there are only four rounds in this pattern repeat and only one of these four is a pattern round. I’m also hoping to help knitters understand how cuff down socks with a traditional gusset develop with this very simple yet elegant sock pattern.
Pattern contains links to five tutorial videos on my YouTube channel to help with various techniques used while knitting these socks.
