Product Details
This little jacket is knit in one piece. It is knit from the bottom up and finishes at the cuffs. This means that the sleeve length can be adjusted.
Although this jacket goes up to three years, a larger size could be achieved by lengthening the sleeves on the 2-3 years. This would make a “cropped” jacket for an older child, as the body has quite a generous width.
Actual measurements.
Size- 3-6 months 12-18 months 2-3 years
Chest - 20ins/50cm 24ins/60cm 28ins/70cm
Sleeve - 8ins/20cm 10ins/25cm 12ins/30cm
Yarn - 300g of Cotton Double Knit. The larger size may use more if knitted in stripes. The smaller size may use less if knitted plain. Smaller quantities are required if using acrylic DK or similar yarn as they are not as heavy as cotton.
There is minimal making up, as only the top edges of the sleeves require sewing. The sleeves could also be easily adapted to knit in the round.
This jacket uses mitered decreases. I have done the maths for you.
