More and more countries ban the use of plastic bags. Why not make your own market bag and impress your fellow customers at the store with a handmade one?
The bag is made out of cotton. It looks quite small when it is unstretched, but stretches quite a lot and provides space for many items. The stitch pattern incorporates some twisted stitches, yarn overs and basic lace stitches. It is both written and charted. A crochet edge along the handles makes them more sturdy. You can use 2 colors, you can use only 1, you can use sport weight cotton or aran weight cotton, or just use any cotton that you like. Options for different yarns are in the pattern.
Needle size 3.5mm (US 4) for a bag in sport weight yarn, needle size 5mm (US 8) for a bag in aran weight yarn.
