Product Details
This pattern is for a throw to use up scraps. It uses both aran weight and bulky weight yarn, although it could be made completely in aran weight. Different stitch patterns are alternated within the rainbow strips to add textural interest.
The finished throw is approximately 36" x 65" (92 cm x 165 cm) but can be made any size you want.
The pattern includes a tutorial link for crochet joins and edging, and is charted for the rainbow strips.
The yarn requirements are for single stranding. A guide to combining yarns to create heavier weight yarns is included. Within the given yardage you will require 125 yards (114 m) aran weight/170 yards (155 m) DK weight/70 yards (64 m) 4-ply/fingering weight in your border colour. The higher yardage would be needed to add the optional border around the whole throw.
Go wild! Use your imagination and those scraps. Multi-strand mohair with cotton, chenille with wool, alpaca with acrylic! There are no rules, only possibilities.
