Knit our Pinafore Dress suitable to fit a baby/child from 6 months to 3 years old.
Design The Dress is easy to knit with a stocking stitch pattern, double-moss stitch edgings and a picot hemline. The front and back are knitted separately and sewn together at the sides. Two buttons are stitched on to the front straps.
Sizes The pattern includes 5 sizes to fit a child: 6m, 12m, 18m, 2yrs and 3 years old.
Yarn The pattern uses 4 ply wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA Sport or Australian 5 ply). The picture shows the outfit knitted for size 12m using Sirsar Snuggly 4 Ply in shade White (0251).
Tension 28 sts and 36 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 3.25 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles Sizes 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm (USA 2 and 3) straight needles are required.
