Love fingerless gloves with little fingers because they stay in place without flipping up, but hate the fuss of making finger tubes? Try Palmies. They have simple chain stitch finger divisions, but no fingers -- so they stay in place no matter what you do.
Palmies are fingerless mitts designed as “working” mitts to fit snugly under long sleeved sweaters or sweatshirts and feature short, twisted rib cuffs and chain-stitch finger-divisions that keep the mitts in place around the palm of the hand, while leaving the fingers free. The back of each mitt has a simple textured pattern while the palm and thumb gussets are stockinette stitch. This is a fast, one-skein project requiring minimal finishing (weaving in only the cast on and bind off tails). The pattern includes two sizes—women’s medium and large.
02.17.14 The pattern was updated to eliminate the need for a crochet hook/techniques.
See [my blog][1] for pictures and information about creating the finger divisions.
