Product Details
‘Paper Crown’ is a knitted version of the classic paper hat of birthday-party and Christmas-cracker fame. The crown shape is formed with simple mini-cables, which outline the transition from the ribbed brim to the stockinette top.
Skills needed include knitting in the round, knit, purl, basic decreases, and 2-stitch cables. This hat would be a great introduction to knitting cables, with or without a cable needle.
Materials: 80-195 yards / 75-180 metres of sock or fingering-weight yarn. One 50g ball of Skeinz Merino Soft 4ply will be enough for any size, but if knitting the Adult Large I recommend buying two balls. Choose a smooth, bouncy yarn for a nicely defined texture.
Yards/meters required: 80yds/75m (105yds/100m, 120yds/110m, 155yds/145m, 195yds/180m) Both charted and written instructions are included.
