Product Details
Pawleys Island is a place to get away and unwind. This shawl resulted when I needed something relaxing but not boring to knit because life got a little too crazy. Bands of stockinette and garter stitch are separated by eyelets. Scrumptious yarn makes the simple sublime and gives you a perfect shawl for chilly evenings on the beach or chilly evenings when you wish you were at the beach :)
I'm a big fan of getting the hard stuff out of the way up front while you have that new-project momentum - top-down sweaters, bottom-up shawls. Starting at the bottom edge means the rows get shorter and shorter so it seems like you pick up speed as you go.
Make it smaller by knitting in a lighter weight yarn at a tighter gauge or by leaving out the first two sections.
Instructions are given for both DK and fingering weight versions of this shawl. Needle sizes 5 and 6 (US) are needed for the fingering version, and 7 and 8 for the DK.
