It’s a minimalistic cardigan which comes in a huge variety of sizes. It’s designed for boys and girls, knitted seamlessly top down in stockinette stitch; button plackets and buttonholes are worked as you go. You start at the neck, work increases along the raglan seams (optional you can highlight the raglan seam with some decorative knitted eyelets), put your sleeve stitches on hold and finish the body, including the set-in pockets. Pick up again the sleeve stitches and finish your sleeves in the round. That’s it! It’s a very simple, beginner-friendly piece of knitting. This is the dk weight version of the Pilo cardigan, it’s only variated in the yarn and gauge and it has additional little pockets.

A really enjoyable pattern. Clear instructions, carefully worded. A very clever top-down construction which remarkably becomes a whole garment as you knit. No fiddly sewing-up required. I am knitting stripes, which works out so well with this pattern. DK wool yarn is perfect.
