Product Details

Fingerless mitts in stocking stitch with a wavy lacy panel at the top above the end of the thumb gusset shaping.

The mitts are knitted in the round and are very quick to knit. The mitts were knitted in Louisa Harding Amitola, which goes a long way, and used about half the 50gm ball. I used colour 106, which is a mix of blues, greys and beige. The way the yarn changes colour meant I got one mitt in shades of light/dark grey and light/dark blue and the other mitt in shades of mid/dark grey and beige.

The mitts can be knitted in any other 3/4ply yarn, but then probably about 30-40gm will be needed.

After the thumb gusset has been worked, the plain knitting changes into an easy wavy lacy panel that gives a slightly scalloped shape to the cast-off edge. The lacy panel gives added interest to the plain stocking stitch mitts but, if you prefer, the whole mitt could be worked in plain st.st.

The knitting instructions are typed.

Size: to fit average size hands. Width: approximately 9cm (3½”) when not stretched. Length from top of cuff rib to cast-‐off edge: approximately 13cm (5”).
