Product Details

This pattern is a great way to use that special skein of handspun or luxury yarn in a project that you can show off whenever there is a chill in the air.

The Quinta cowl is great for that lightly spun 2-ply yarn that you just can’t live without but you don’t know what to do with. A lightly spun 2-ply doesn’t have the body to create deep stitch definition, but it wants to be more than plain garter stitch. By using twisted stitches in this lace pattern, you can make a more dramatic statement. And if you use a springy 3-ply, the twisted stitches will make the texture pop even more.

The cowl is made with a lace pattern that uses twisted knit stitches, yarn overs, twisted decrease stitches, double decreases, and bobbles. All unusual decreases are described in the pattern. The cowl is cast on along the circumference edge and joined to work in the round.

Good Yarn Substitutions - Any sock or fingering weight yarn in a wool or wool-blend. A handspun fingering weight yarn should work well, too.
