Recycled sari silk wraparound skirt with vertical stripes

There are patterns here for both a long and a short skirt. The skirt is made sideways in one piece using long and short rows, there are instructions for button holes and belt loops. It wraps around and overlaps at the front. It is about 85 cms around the waist, allowing for the overlap. It isn't difficult to make it larger or smaller.

For the long skirt which is heavy and uses 1000 - 1200 grams or so, I've used 70 - yes 70 different colours! For the shorter skirt, about 12 colours and around 600 grams or so. They are heavy, but drape well.
