Just started knitting a pair of socks. So far, so good. With a previous purchase of Regia 4 Ply 50g I had experimented knitting footlets to see if I could get a better fit, plus learn to cast on using the Old Norwegian cast-on. That experiment failed. Back to Knitting following pattern instructions, using the Old Norwegian cast-on and instructions for a more rounded toe. The Regia 4 ply held up to the many rip outs and knitting it again, which is important if you are trying something new. The cost is economical, so you do not have to feel bad if project does not go as planned. Because it is economical, you can think of other projects to make.
Lovely colour, have used Regia sock yarn before with no issues however this time the yarn feels rougher, looser spun (it is splitting a lot) and also feels like there are some thicker spots. However after swatching and blocking it does feel softer and looks fine. But be aware it may not be as you would have expected if you have used Regia before. Cannot complain about the value and in my crochet project it looks great.
Regia 4 ply sock wool is always my choice for knitting socks. 100gms will make a pair of socks for an adult, the yarn is good to use and the socks can be machine washed on a cool cycle. Socks are my go to project when I have nothing else on my needles and family and friends have benefitted as a result.
My first attempt to knit with sock wool. It has survived a few pulling outs and starting agains! A few goes later I now have a pair of not quite perfect wool socks
