Product Details
There is a KAL for this sweater going on now in the Top Down Sweaters Group.
This top-down, raglan-style cardigan is worked in an allover rib stitch in one piece. At four points around the waist (two at the front, two at the back) the ribs curve into a cable motif, providing gentle, flattering shaping. A rectangular shawl collar is worked separately in an all-over version of the same motif and sewn on.
Cable instructions are both written and charted. A schematic is included.
The yarn is a worsted-weight 85% wool, 15% mohair (quite warm). Other yarns that meet the same gauge could be substituted but I recommend fibers or blends with some memory. You don't want this baby to stretch out on you.
I named the cardigan after the river that flows past my mother’s hometown in Scotland, on the banks of which my grandfather, many, many years ago, operated a woolen mill.
Yardage requirements: 8 (8, 10, 11, 12, 13 , 14, 14) skeins @ 190 yds each.
