Product Details
As a lot of knitwear designers seem to do these days, I got my inspiration for this hat from nature. From a Romanesco broccoli, to be more precise. Its shape is so very plastic and geometric that it made me think of a hat at once. I sketched and swatched and very soon came up with a freshly knit hat. And these intense shades of green and blue really make the checked pattern shine.
There is also a felted version available, directions are given in the pattern.
My sister is once again doing some lovely modeling.
There is an illustrated appendix explaining all techniques used, however, you need to be familiar with stranded knitting and reading from a chart to work this pattern.
The sample was worked in Till Kampes and Morjaerv Ullspinneri. A substitute yarn is shown below.
