Product Details
The pattern calls for a TOTAL of 450m of yarn but this is be made up from two yarns. In the featured sock I used about 30 gms for the main colour for the rib & leg & about 40gms for the leg contrast & the foot. These quantities are often left over from knitting a pair of ladies socks so this pattern is a great way to use up spare yarn. Self striping yarn can add to the fun!
Rozel socks earn their name from the lovely Jersey fishing village of Rozel, where the old fisherman's huts are painted in different bright colours and line up along the edge of the harbour & create little lozenges of colour when viewed across the bay. The colourful palette also comes from the signboard of the Hungry Man shack cafe on the end of the harbour wall! A Hungry Man breakfast? Don't mind if I do!
*The pattern is achieved through slipping stitches in the main colour & working the contrast colour in two out of a four row pattern. A jogless stripe technique ensures a smooth transition between rows.
