Product Details

The Ruffle Kerfuffle Scarf features a steek (area of waste stitches) that is cut, and then finished with a ruffle. (Fear not; instructions included.) This scarf is knit in the round, and is a good introduction to stranded colorwork knitting; only 2 colors are used per round. If you choose a variegated yarn for the contrast color, you’ll look like a color genius, but all the work was done for you by the dyer!

Why knit colorwork in the round? The right side always faces you; no purling back! Steek is reinforced with single crochet. Instructions for steeking are given, as well as a link to a more detailed online tutorial. This is a great first steeking project.

Scarf requires 200 yards main color and 130 yards contrast color (this is enough for either length). Sample shown in Malabrigo Worsted Merino Violetas and Colorinche.

Pattern also includes instructions for the Kerfuffle Cowl, which is knit in the round but not steeked. Cowl requires 125 yards MC, 90 yards CC.
