Product Details

Sandbar is an extra-wide, shallow, crescent-shaped shawl, knitted top-down from one skein of fingering yarn. Comforting garter stitch, along with a band of slipped stitches, creates a bright and breezy casual shawl.

Yarn 400-450 yards of fingering/sock/4ply yarn. Shown in Atelier Shmeep (80% Merino/10% Cashmere/10% Nylon; 400 yards/100 grams) in Corlette, 1 skein.

Needles & Notions 6 US/4 mm circular needle, 32-40 inches/80-100 cm long. 8 US/5 mm circular needle, 32-40 inches/80-100 cm long. Stitch marker (optional). Yarn/wool needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge 16.5 stitches and 38 rows per 4 inches/10 cm on smaller needles in garter stitch after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.

Finished Measurements Wingspan 80 inches/203 cm; Depth 10 inches/25.5 cm, after blocking.
