Product Details

For many people in the Nordic countries, Sankta Lucia is an important celebration. It must be said though, that the Nordic version of Sankta Lucia has very little in common with the Saint Lucia of Syracuse, as most know her.

Over the centuries, the early Christian martyr has been changed into a carol-singing woman, clad in a white gown with candles in her hair. She is a symbol of hope, as she comes when the night is longest, carrying the promise that light will soon return.

Gauge  The socks are knit with a tight gauge to make the fabric more durable.  34 sts and 40 rnds = 10x10 cm / 4x4” in stocking stitch / colour work after blocking  Gauge was obtained on 2.5 mm / US 1.5 needle.

Technical Editing  The pattern has been professionally tech edited by James Bartley
