Product Details

Sativus: Latin name of the crocus, traditionally grown in Saffron Walden in Essex, UK. From the crocus is derived saffron - the spice that is more expensive than gold.

The yarn is an exclusive colourway from Craft Days in Saffron Walden, dyed by Mint Bee Yarns.

Sativus is a one-skein lace scarf in a gorgeous hand dyed 4ply wool/silk blend. It is designed to accentuate the beauty in hand dyed yarn. I’ve embraced the pooling that occurs with this colourway, but Sativus would look just as stunning in a solid or semi-solid shade.

The lace pattern is both written out row by row, and charted, so you can choose which to work from.

The cute roll back edges are knitted in, so there is no finishing to do other than weaving in your ends and blocking to show off the lace to best advantage.
